Design
Brad consists of a massive elm wood under frame, which is strengthened with a steal frame. The seat and back part are mounted separately on the under frame and stay fixed by the smart design. Subsequently, the arm rests are easily mounted on the steal arm layers and complete the couch. The ribbons which are pulled over the back and seat part, give an optical effect of separate seats.
Used materials
The wooden frame has been made of watered elm wood. The watering of the elm wood, ensures a stable wood, which is extremely fit to use traditional wooden connections. This is clearly visible in the details of the couch. The frame is strengthened with a steal framework. The seat and back part are made of pocket springs, hemp and horsehair, covered with virgin wool. By the use of the ribbons on the back and seat part, the possibility of stretching the tissue is very small. These ribbons can be pulled tight, whereby the seat regains its original form and no ‘seat holes’ will appear.

The used materials come from the high quality collection of the Scottish weaver company Bute.
